I’d been running my business for over twenty years but was becoming increasingly frustrated at the level of growth. I seemed to be doing everything, but not getting the results I wanted.

A colleague recommended I go to an Accelerator workshop run by Deri Llewellyn-Davies, Founder of BGI. To be honest, I was sceptical. I thought I needed a business coach, not a strategy expert.

I wondered what this guy could possibly tell me that I don’t already know?

Instead of telling me what was wrong with my business, Deri brought me to go back to basics. He got me to look at the purpose and vision. Why London & Kent existed.

Then we went deeper, looking into how we operated, paying particular attention to marketing, sales, operations, cash and talent.

It was a thorough overhaul of how we operated and what our aims were.

It was a eureka moment. For the first time ever, I realised that part of the problem was me. I was trying to do too much.

It taught me the importance of empowering the team around me and utilising my time differently. This led to greater efficiencies in the business and the ability to go after clients we’d previously ignored.

The end result is that London & Kent has grown as a business, we’re now in a much stronger position to compete, and we have a clear vision as to where we’re going.
